Oil on canvas palette knife painting: 12x16 inches. In person, you get the interplay of actual textures of paint and color with realtime light sources and shadows, which is the feeling I was after. In painting the movement and energy of being underwater, I wanted to capture the sensation of swimming with dolphins, which is energizing and vital, dynamic in shifting water and light. Dolphins are such beautiful ocean animals, and I am inspired by the way they interact with their safe, unpolluted habitats.
